Production of virus-free iPS cells by a novel cell penetrating peptide
We identified a novel cell penetrating peptide (NTP: nuelear trafficking peptide), and applied it on production of virus-free iPS cells from mouse embryonic fibroblasts. We discuss possible collaboration with a company
Outlines/Features of Research
NTP is superior to known cell-penetrating peptides such as Tat-derived peptide and R11. By combination with protease and endonuclease, NTP enables us to process proteins within cells of interest and genome-manipulation. In addition to virus-free production of iPS cells, it is possible to apply NTP on a variety of cellular transformation just by proteins.
